We thought everything went well, but our parents seem to have had a few issues. From the time we started talking on the phone in planning our parents' move, you both were an outstanding help and an amazingly calming influence to us. Moving elderly parents who have been where they are for 35 years is unthinkable, and to do it in the time frame we had was very distressing to us (we live in Australia currently and only had a few weeks to get this done). From the beginning y'all were wonderful. Then the four gentlemen who showed up on the day were magnificent. Virtually nothing was done in preparation for their arrival and the boys didn't flinch; they just dove right in and methodically moved things out. It was chaotic and disorganized and just a mess and each of them was very kind and understanding about the whole thing. They worked so hard and we are extremely grateful to them.

We're not being hateful not taking the survey, we just don't know what to say on some of the questions, as there may have been a couple of issues. As far as we are concerned, we couldn't be happier or more grateful to you for helping our parents.

Thank you again for your wonderful team you sent to our parents' house that day.

To whom it may concern:

Mell and Melvin (of the Jacksonville, Fla., location) are the best movers we have ever had - and we've moved dozens of times in the past 40 years. Our most recent move promised to be the toughest of all. We were relocating my parents from one assisted living facility to another. Because of dad's dementia, we couldn't begin packing until the day of the move; because mom had a last-minute doctor's appointment, Mell and Melvin ended up doing all the packing while dad, his nurse, the dog and I talked about "the big yellow house" and the new "bedrooms" dad and mom were moving to. By the time my husband arrived with mom, Mell and Melvin had packed and moved nearly everything to the truck.

When dad asked, "Will they move me next?" We said, "Yes" and Mell and Melvin stopped their packing and loading to make the first of two trips to mom and dad's new home. They moved dad's things into a memory care room and the other things into mom's assisted living room in the same building. Then they drove back to finish the packing and loading at the first location. Getting the job done required two trips between the two facilities, and in spite of the challenges of: (1) broken elevators at the first facility during most of the day, which meant walking about a mile out of the way to get furniture to the truck; (2) having to interrupt packing to make a trip to offload dad's things and then returning to pack and load more; and (3) mom and dad's fluffy, friendly, but barky little white dog giving us orders most of the day, Mell and Melvin never showed any frustration. They remained calm, careful, considerate, and compassionate, hour after hour, completing a move that lasted nearly twice as long as we had estimated.

The split move - one location in the first facility (elevators there) to two in the second facility (both on the first floor; one in a lockdown unit) - was hard enough, but at the end of it, we still had excess furniture and boxes, so we asked Mell and Melvin to move them into a newly contracted storage unit at a third location. No problem for these two supermen who remained sincerely committed to getting the job done; both worked flat out, with no breaks. It was getting dark by the time they finished at the storage facility. Mell and Melvin handled my parents' precious possessions with care and respect. That meant so much to us. Everything arrived in perfect condition. What my husband and I expected to be a very difficult day for our family, both physically and emotionally, was instead a very happy one. We will always remember Mell and Melvin for their kindness. You are fortunate to have such men to represent your company. I have already told the managers of the storage facility and the new assisted living facility about our excellent experience; and I have mentioned your company and Mell and Melvin by name. If anyone ever asks for a referral, you know which company and which men will get the highest praise and best recommendations from us.

My mother passed away very recently so our emotions were a little raw. Jamie and Chris showed compassion by loading her things with extreme care and concern. Their good spirits brought smiles to our faces several times – especially when they unloaded the truck by actually running up and down the ramp.

They even took the time afterwards to eat sloppy joes with us and share some of their challenging work stories.

The Lincoln, Neb., franchise received a note from a customer who wanted to say her move was wonderful. She said everything arrived safe and sound.

Hamilton East, Ohio

The Hamilton/E, Ohio, franchise received a letter from a customer who said he wanted to acknowledge the “uniquely wonderful experience our move was.” He indicated he had used the location’s moving services before, but this move was exceptional. A customer wrote to the Charlotte, N.C., franchise to thank the team for a recent job at his parents’ house helping move furniture. He had to renovate the 47-year-old home because original carpets and insulation were making his dad sick.

Customers of the Tucson/SW, Ariz., franchise sent a letter to say they are very grateful and appreciative for everything the location did for them. They also said the staff is very hard working.

Toledo, Ohio

Customers wrote to the Toledo, Ohio, franchise to say how satisfied they were with the service received on a recent move. They wrote that Matt Diakonis, Mike Harris, Wayland Thomas and Tyler Garland were “absolutely wonderful.” The moving team was professional, worked extremely hard and went above and beyond their duties. They plan to advertise the location and would call again for assistance in the future.

I would like to express my thanks to the two gentlemen that were sent to move my daughter's belongings to her new apartment. Joseph and Micah we friendly, efficient and very accommodating with us. My daughter and I are really happy with the job they performed and wanted you to know that we appreciated their efforts on Wednesday.
